8. I'd like to think so but
who the hell is dumbya going to replace him with? I want Rummy to go -- in abject disgrace if possible -- but it doesn't make me think the war will go better.

Rumsferatu has fucked the whole thing up so badly that it might be too late for any other SecDef to fix the mess.

28. "change the outcome"
I say no. The outcome sucks and it will remain sucky no matter who is in there. Bush has seen to that.

4. I'm afraid that if he resigns, our troops will stay in Iraq longer . . .
Which would be a real loss, because they are needed HERE to IMPLEMENT Homeland Security, you know, all of that stuff about our Ports and Borders.

They obviously aren't listening to the military despite saying they do. I don't think anything would change, though I wish he'd go.

20. The poll should be more specific. Change the outcome in what way?
When I think about the history of this administration, "frying pans" and "fires" always come to mind.

The only thing that will change the outcome of the war in a meaningful way is for the U.S. and the other coalition forces to withdraw. If it takes replacing Rumsfeld to do that, then he needs to go. But the act of simply replacing Rumsfeld guarantees nothing.

37. "Positive," for the right wing, can be summed up by a sign...
...I saw at the Cindy Sheehan counter-protest in Crawford: "Kick their ass and take their gas."

Not trying to be argumentative. Just saying that I don't know what was in the mind of the person who created that poll.

:hi:

I reluctantly voted "yes" in the faint hope that
new leadership might stop BushCo from compounding
their blunder by attacking Iran.

Things are to far gone right now. It would take a combination of Generals Eisenhower & Washington with a little Ulysses S. Grant thrown in to fix this disaster.
