The Media - Behind Closed Doors
Edited on Sat Apr-15-06 09:09 PM by kentuck
What do they say about Bush? Do they say he is a brave man or a fool? Do they fear to say anything negative about this Administration? Do they vow to support him because he is the President, the leader of our country? Do they report from conviction or from fear? Or is it simple peer pressure from their superiors? Are they afraid of the truth? Dare their true thoughts escape in a moment of weakness and let the world know what they really think. That our country is being led down a path of ruin by an imbecile, clucking like a chicken in the barnyard. That he could not fashion a complex thought if our nation depended on it. That we will try and endure until it is over. No, they will continue the facade. Never let the people know what they really think...

1. Whatever It Is, They Keep It Behind Closed Doors
Or their boss gets a phone call from you-know-who.

2. Hi, kentuck. Let me ask you about one journalist in particular.
I wondered if you think your summary above would apply to Christiane Amanpour of CNN.

I feel she has been gritty and direct with the accounts from both Afghanistan and Iraq.

4. I don't see her very much anymore...

But I think she is a very credible journalist. One of the best, in fact.

Mostly what I am thinking of are those journalists that follow their leader, be it Chris Matthews or Bill O'Reilly, or whomever, and are too fearful to express an opinion of their own.

5. Agree that the media have a lot to answer for in the build-up to
Bush's Iraq war.

I would like to think the generals' objection to a possible Iran strike will continue to be covered as it is now.

Bush faces an almost unprecedented barrage of criticism from the military.

So far the press has done a reasonable job of putting that up there.

Agree with you also that fear of higher-ups often determines content in reporting.

3. we are going to have to do this in spite of the half truths
and omissions from the MSM

The small hope is that in spite of the lack of reporting, the polls indicate that the dynamics are changing

The only question I ask is will the people finally vote in numbers in 2006?
