Do we need a 'plan' .......... or a posture?
This plan and that. Plans to get out of Iraq. Plans to help the middle class. Plans for better port security. Plans for immigration reform, taxes, energy ....... blah fucking blah.

Plans, plans, plans .... plans to develop more plans.

Maybe what we REALLY need is a **posture**.

One in which we stand tall. One in which we thrust out our chins. One in which we look our opposition (political and geopolitical) in the eye and tell them what we STAND for.

Or would we need a plan to do that?

"posture" is a way of framing it. We have a solution.
We *know* how to run the economy right.
We *know* how to defend the peace.

We center ourselves in that spinal column and the
resulting posture is better than any plan agreed indeed.

3. Actually I have to agree with you...the time for planning is past...
it's time to as you say, "Posture", and fight back!!

Not only do we tell them what we stand for....we proove it....During the November elections when they pull out their swiftboating machine....we need to respond within a timely manner to refute any bullshit they try to pull...

Yes..the Democratic Party better have that plan already done....it's time for action!!!

4. No
What we need is a charismatic leader who will rally the forces around him.

After that, a plan will be easy. Because people will listen to him.

And I don't see anyone out there with that kind of draw, alas.

8. I wish
But he doesn't have it. A great guy, maybe even a fine Veep candidate, but he's not got what it takes to get people to follow him.

Charisma. The word first got big play when JFK was running. That shows you how old I am, but it's unbeatable, and only Bubba Clinton has displayed a hint of it - mostly after he left office, unfortunately.

Charisma. The kind of man who will make others want to follow him into battle.

Where is he?

7. If only, Lefty ..... if only .......
But I have hope that someone will lift her/himself up out of our collective miasma and grow a posture. That could be charisma enough.

9. Sticking one's head up out of muck
doesn't qualify as charisma.

There's someone out there, not part of the Senate or House, maybe not even yet in politics in a big way, and he's got to appear.

Why am I thinking of Stephen King's "The Stand"?

Uhhhhhh.
