The Revolutionary War II
Does anyone else sense that history is repeating itself? We have a new King George that wants to rule us w/o a Constitution.

If someone dumps Starbucks Coffee into the Seattle harbor I'll know it's a sign.

It should be easier the second time. The founding fathers had to write the Constitution from scratch. They didn't have much to model after. But could we find Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, etc. now we need them again??

But on the downside, King George has all the wacko's on his side and they have guns.

Intellectuals arm thy selves. Remember the killing fields.

Question: Would revolutionary rebels today be called insurgents?

Disclaimer for the benefit of NSA, FEMA, and the Dept of Fatherland Security: I do not now nor ever have either recommended or condoned violence.

1. they'll march we intellectuals off to 'reeducation' camps under the guise
of dominionism, if this hogwash is allowed to continue.

2. History will forever be repeating itself in this matter as the...
...stalks of Tyranny and Liberty's necks are both rooted in hydra-trunk of the human heart.

They will spring forth again and again nomatter how cleanly or deeply severed.

3. Lack of affect means..
.. mental disease. Wacko doesn't even begin to describe it.

Bush definitely does not relate emotionally to others.

Nor do most corporatists and conservatives unless
these others look and act exactly like them.

Ugghhh.

4. The next American revolution will not be conservative v. liberal,
black v. white, gun owner v. tree hugger, right v. left, deomcrat v. republican, or anything like that.

The next American revolution will be when intelligent people of every political, social, and economic stripe realize that the country is being destroyed by assholes. The true "axis of evil" in America is Bill O'Reilly, Don Imus, and Nancy Grace. They are the people stirring up dissent to feed their own massive egos.

Once people remember that differences can be dealt using rational discussion, that the other side can make vaild points, and that no one ever gets their way 100% of the time, they will rise up and shout down the loudmouth ideologues and rabblerousers who are destroying the fiber of society. Sean Hannity, that asshead on MSNBC who shouts about the stock market (I refuse to even learn his name), Howard Stern, Tom Cruise, Michael Savage. The list goes on and on. They're outta here.

Douglas Adams, who was a much more profound social commentator than he's given credit for, described in "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe" a race of people who looked at their society and decided to get rid of the truly useless ones by shipping them off on a giant space ark. These marketing consultants and hairdressers became the human race. I think it's time for their descendents to clean house once again.

8. I would love to see that but i doubt it. The wacko's and gullible's
far out number the rest of us. The go from one liar to another looking for the easy way out. They don't seek truth, they were raised to have faith in their leaders. Millions listen to Pat Robertson, and Bill O'Reilly, etc. Freedom takes hard work and they can't handle it. It will be necessary for the middle class to slide into poverty before they wake up. The next American Revolution will be like the French Revolution. The peasants against the aristocratic ruling class.

5. Two items come to mind:
The Rise and Fall of Nations:

Here is the moral of all human tales, --
'Tis but the same rehearsal of the past,
First freedom and then glory - when that fails,
Wealth, vice, corruption, barbarism at last;
And History with all her volumes vast
Hath but one page.
Lord Byron

Truth forever on the scaffold,
Wrong forever on the throne..... James Russell Lowell

6. 30 years ago
in my Survey of English Lit course, I didn't particularly care for Lord Byron--didn't find him relevant. I was misled by the textbook

7. I actually wrote these two verses into my diary during the
60-70s. They always seem to come back when I need them.
