5) he and his handlers are betting that, if we're in another war, that'll give them the green light to suppress dissent again, because, as we all know, one must NOT criticize the president during wartime! They probably regard it as a surefire way to pull up his poll numbers, which means they're thinking of going for broke BEFORE the November elections. That's the only way they can turn around a lot of republi-CON waverers who don't want to be seen with him anymore. It would also flip more than a few limbot voters out there who are BEGGING for an excuse to vote republi-CON again with a "clear" conscience. At the moment, they're all DEEPLY troubled because they see what their beloved party is doing and their consciences can't quite square with it. A strike on Iran would effectively neutralize all of those misgivings. Because, after all, bush is doing God's work, and we CAN'T turn our backs on him in wartime, can we???
