17 UVa students staging a peaceful sit-in inside Madison Hall since April 12 for a living wage for all University employees, were arrested last night (Saturday) and taken to jail. Their bond hearing will be tomorrow morning (Monday).
JOIN BARBARA EHRENREICH, THE LIVING WAGE CAMPAIGN, UVA STUDENTS, PARENTS OF ARRESTED STUDENTS, PROFESSORS, UVA EMPLOYEES, UVA BLACK STUDENT ALLIANCE, COMMUNITY MEMBERS, CCPJ MEMBERS, BETTER THAN TELEVISION, and others at the Courthouse tomorrow - Monday, April 17 at 8:30 am in support of the arrested students and their cause.
If you can't make it to Charlottesville, Va., PLEASE NOTE: The support team also urges us to call or email President John Casteen to 1. Have the arrested students released immediately. 2. We have received word requesting a LARGE TURNOUT at the court to show community support for the students and their cause (a living wage for all University employees).
The Albemarle County General District Court is located at 501 E. Jefferson St. in Charlottesville. Park on the street or in the Market St. parking garage. The number for the Clerk's office is 972-4007. The court opens at 8:30 am.

Note: Barbara Ehrenreich will be speaking on the steps of Madison Hall at 1:00 tomorrow (Monday). There are Living Wage Campaign folks camped on the lawn at Madison Hall staying the course in support of the students and a living wage for all University employees. Join them for the daily rally at 1:00.
