Watch Norman Robinson during the debate tonight: REAL DEAL
He will co-moderate with Chris Matthews.

He rocks!

And he will go national after this exposure. Smart, powerful, fearless, and credible.

He nailed Grand Wizard David Duke while moderating a debate about 15 years ago.

I was so impressed, I hand delivered a fan letter.

Go Norman! New Orleans needs you to be on your game tonight!

2. I'd like to see Ron Foreman win the mayorship.
He's exactly what New Orleans needs right now to help rebuild.

Forman began his career as an aide to Moon Landrieu, father of the Lt. Governor, and it was that Mayor who asked the young staffer "to see what could be done with the Audubon Zoo," at the time an aged and collapsing set of concrete cages with little ascetic value or sensitivity to the needs of the animals.

From that beginning, Forman built what would become one of the top five zoological gardens in the nation--and an ecofoundation that would create an award-wining Aquarium, Wetlands Nature Center, Primate Research Center, and park system. The work of the President of the Audubon Institute, as the ever-growing natural foundation came to be called, was rarely far from politics, as he took state grants and local property taxes and wed them to the largess of an extensive group of financial contributors.

Straddling the line of political and non-profit made Forman a figure to which many listened across the spectrum. Ray Nagin considered the support of the Audubon Institute's President as a key reason for his late campaign surge and victory in the 2002 mayor's race. The incumbent Mayor later hired Forman's wife Sally to serve as City Hall's communications director. She resigned last week when her husband indicated he would challenge Nagin.

3. I have to add that I wouldn't mind if Mitch Landrieu won
but Ron Foreman has done incredibly brilliant work with the zoo, the parks, the Aquarium, & bringing an IMAX theater to New Orleans. He's proven himself as a mover.

I cannot stand Peggy Wilson or Rob Couhig (Zephyrs' owner). Both are overbearing & obnoxious.

4. I really don't have a dog in this fight yet
I'm on the Northshore now and registered here. But NOLA will always be HOME.

Keeping my cards close for now...because I can.

That having been said, I can't quarrel with your views. Let's see how this big bag of weird goes tonight.

Then we'll talk....

10. Peggy Wilson just said she thought N.O. should have asked for $$
in the form of loans, to be repaid, and then the cabdriver in Chicago would not have a hard time seeing his tax dollars go to N.O. to help rebuild it. What planet is she on.

9. I miss seeing Norman Robinson & Susan Roesgen every night
on WDSU. I lived in N.O. for over 30 years, and have the greatest respect for Norman Robinson. Norman is just rocking and rolling with this debate, and asking the hard hitting questions!

13. GO Norman!!!!
Norman has been doing a fantastic job of moderating this debate. Far better than Tweety! I am glad to see Norman taking the lead over Tweety. Susan Roesgen has gone onto CNN, and I would love to see Norman have some similar opportunities on a national stage. He deserves it.

16. Thanks for this thread, Keseys Ghost
I lived in New Orleans most of my life (from 1959 until 1994). I watched the debate tonight primarily to catch up with Norman Robinson, who I have always admired and liked as a newscaster.
He rocked!!! I think he made Tweety look like the dumbass he is.
I shit a brick when Foreman, a Democrat, said Bush was doing a good job.
I liked Ms. Boulet in that she seems like a nice person, but I don't think she'd be good as Mayor. Maybe someday down the line.
Couhig sucked. Typical Repub smear.
Former Councilperson Peggy sucked more than Couhig.
I really liked Mitch tonight. I hope he wins.
I wasn't familiar with Mr. Watson before tonight, but I was extremely impressed with him. He was the most impressive, and seems like he cares for everyone and would be a good "uniter." I hope he gets a post in Mitch's administration.(Crossing fingers Landrieu wins).
Didn't they say Mr. Watson is both minister and social worker? Wow, what a combination.
Nagin was better than Couhig and Wilson, only 'cause the two Repukes sucked donkeyturds so much.
