Did anyone catch Drudge last night? A caller referred to the Senate committee hearings of last 11-9-05 when the oil executives testified, without being placed under oath, about energy prices and profits. He said that one executive claimed the real reason prices were high was do to a few parties who held "contracts". What type, I've no idea. Futures?
At that point the Senate committee went into closed session.
I've been trying to track down the full transcript up until that point with no luck and have been going around in circles. For example
http://www.sigma.org/wr/reports/05/051114.html has a link to what it claims is the transcript to here:
http://energy.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Hearings.Hearing&Hearing_ID=1517But there's nothing there but an announcement.
The Search function here:
http://energy.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=Search.Home brings up nothing.
Here's the GPO page for transcripts for that committee
http://www.access.gpo.gov/congress/senate/senate08ch109.htmland there's nothing there.
Can anyone shed any light on this matter of "contracts"?
Thanks!
