The Lincoln Club of Newport Beach, CA
is the arm that releases million of dollars to Republican candidates of across the nation. They don't have to in town, except when a rabid Republican is running against a "moderate" one (for whom none of us will vote) and who still won.

Money tree

The Lincoln Club of Orange County keeps a hand in politics nationwide, and is bringing some key candidates to town for a look-see and probably some financial backing. Tuesday for lunch at the Pacific Club it will be Mark Kennedy, whom Republicans hope will pick up a GOP Senate seat in his Minnesota race this year. Wednesday for breakfast at the Crown Plaza Anaheim Resort it will be Michael Steele, who has the same mission as Kennedy but in Maryland. Escorting Steele through town will be Rep. John Thune, R-South Dakota, who won his seat with Lincoln Club backing. In June, the club's guest will be former NFL great and Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann.
