RE: Rove/Mcclellan.

Gang, I am telling you, mcclellan is a non story (fun yes, but ultimately does not help the cause enough)

But rove: This IS NOT necessarily GREAT news. Rove gets to concentrate almost exclusively on ELECTIONS. I don't mean to be a "sky is falling" guy, and I know spin when I see it, but what if the freeps are right?

Who cares if Rove has a hand in policy? It isn't like ALL the evil comes from him alone. But it is a known but not so often discussed fact that Rove had a hand in putting gay marriage (among other hot button wedge issues) into the spotlight in 2004. AND YES, PEOPLE ARE SCARED AND STUPID ENOUGH TO FALL FOR IT AGAIN! Jesus, we even have Dems who are thinking about going along with Iran.

I say this is NOT good, and it tells me to watch closely what kind of issues really come to the forefront. Let's hope that Fitz is the real deal and that Rove did something that just can't be covered up for much longer.

AND....does it occur to anyone else that this is Rove's idea? Deflect and give the press and the bloggers a false sense of security.

Flame if you must, but I am just saying, watch the subtleties over the next few months folks.

*edited to add a couple more thoughts*

1. In bush's administration
titles are irrelevant. If bush needs rove's input in policy he'll have it. I do find that his "shift" to elections is interesting and a sign of desperation among the gop. They have to bring out their ogre of a human being in an attempt to win elections? Sad. Pathetic. Typical bush move.

3. Agree re Rove. This is just a toe testing the water
to see if it is enough of a sacrifice to appease the restless masses

But, hey, I gots me a new sig line outta the deal.

And what about everyone being 'asked to leave' the helicopter?

http://www.baynews9.com/content/74/2006/4/19/154562.html

Bush left the helicopter smiling, saying there had been some sort of incident and everyone was asked to leave. There is no word on the nature of the incident.

On board the chopper with Bush was Scott McClellan, who had just resigned, and advisor Karl Rove. Two others were also on board.

We want the rest of that story! ;)

5. Fear, uncertainty and doubt
that is how they try to control the sheeple!

And Rove has been very good at this. Let's see if the tide has turned. I have actually had several Republicans I know come up to me and complain about the administration--and some of them are Pat Robertson fundamentalists here in Virginia!!!!!

I have been frankly shocked at how many people here are openly talking negatively about the Republicans who are (in the past at least) voted Republican.

I think that the Kaine vote for governor was NOT a fluke and was not all due to Warner.

4. I wonder if Scott is also involved
I suspect that they are trying to ditch as much baggage as possible before the indictments come down.

7. Rove is doing what he does best, fuck with elections.
The repukes know they are in deep shit come november, roves departure or change of area (which ever euphemism you wish to use) is nothing more than him making sure that diebol are in place to fuck us once again.
