Bolten`s shakeup....a quick squirt of Raid and a few black tarps

Josh Bolten`s big "shakeup" has the media twittering about new prospects for The Comeback Bully in the White House. Maybe one has to be there to fully appreciate Bush`s any-minute-now salvation, but from my vantage point up here in the sticks, it looks like Bolten is trying to make us believe that poison pills aren`t really poison if they`re switched to a different bottle. Like Chernobyl could be transformed with a few buckets of fresh topsoil or New Orleans` Ninth Ward could be a gorgeous Theme Park with the construction of six neon signs.

Who Is Bolten kidding? Flat-broke Americans eying photos of our new zillion-acre embassy in Baghdad? Residents of Nevada awaiting June`s Divine Strake test? The guy in New Orleans who found more "human remains" yesterday? The parents pacing the corridors at Walter Reed? The 50-somethings with pink slips and empty gas tanks? Does Bolten really think that melting ice caps will refreeze and lost limbs will reappear if Scotty goes back to Texas and Tony Snow grabs the microphone? They can shuffle deck chairs `til the cows come home, but we`ll be in this festering mess as long as Bush is at the helm. Step one....get rid of the Captain. Impeach him and the fake white horse he rode in on.

Vermont`s disapproval of Bush stands about 70%. That means 3 out of 10 still like the fresh topsoil idea for Chernobyl, still think Saddam helped train the terrorists on September 11th, still think all those cheap, Chinese ankle socks are because of labor unions, not trade policies. These are Josh Boltenites. Hire a high-visibility clean up crew, squirt a little Raid, and we`re good to go. Ignore the dissenting Generals. They probably hate America....and eat tofu.
