I think this should be the Dems' #1 message this year:
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 11:31 AM by MJDuncan1982
"If you return the system of checks and balances by electing us, we will investigate the living %#^@ out of President Bush."

Touch up the language of course:)

Opinions?

Edit: This should be the #1 message simply to beat the Republicans.

1. Although legitimate, I prefer spending time securing our borders first.
Terrorist's see us all as one big satan. Once the borders are secure, then get shrub.

4. I think the undecided voter will be looking to solutions to other problems
and not getting back at Bush. If our forefront message is "get shrub", i'm afraid the undecided will think that the other problems are lower on our list.

8. Yes you and i agree this in our opinion is what it takes
to beat the crap out of republicans, unfortunately most voters don't agree with us. Not to say i don't think thats what we should do, but i don't agree it should be a campaign slogan.

Me thinks the masses in this country or totally disgusted with politics and politicians, and the Dem's had better be able to put the masses at ease come November. And saying to the average voter we want to start impeachment proceeding as soon as we take office, if a recipe for disaster IMHO.

Oh we heed to have hearing and we need to convict the SOB's but we need to do it quietly after we've won the elections.

10. flashdebadge, I agree with you, yes we need to get idiot boy but after....
....we have secure borders. The crap that these jerks have pulled will be coming back to haunt us for years to come so secure borders are a must.

OK now, let me see. How about "give us a shot, we have ideas for fixing some of this. If you don't like it, throw us out in two years.

On a serious note, I think we have to run on a pragmatic approach, with emphasis on sunshine in gov. and integrity in our voting. If we have to win with rovian tactics we don't deserve to win.

6. Won't Happen
I absolutely predict that if the Dems take back the House ... there will NOT be an impeachment inquiry.

Indeed, I suspect Rep. Conyers will be replaced as chair of the Judiciary Committee.

House Dems will say that they want to move on, that Bush only has two years left, and that the Democrats want to get on with governing the country.

You read it here first.

9. Investigations
Don't be so cynical. Some of the crap has to be cleaned up, and let the chips fall where they may. If some dems. are caught in the process, so be it, we can never trust them if there is not a legitimate effort to at least get Halliburton?

7. I think it would be effective to go after the corruption...
and to promise the voters that the corruption will be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
