Why is Norah O'Donnell always so giddy?
Is there booze in the Green Room? Is someone tickling her under the desk? What?

She giggles and rolls her eyes and carries on as if she were covering Hollywood, rather than covering those who have the power and the apparent intent to set the world aflame and destroy America. Gossip seems to be her happy place, rather than real reporting.

I say she's jumped the shark. Dump her, NBC.

in this constant state of almost flirting all the time. I hope that isn't sexist. Sorry if it is but that's the feeling I get watching her.

40. Curiously...is she related to "Lawrence O'Donnell"...also on MSNBC?
Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 10:56 AM by zann725
I realize it's a common last name. And I deeply respect Lawrence's writing and reporting. Just curious if she's even remotely related? (No disrespect intended.)

6. She is cute and saying so isn't sexist at all.
I would like to see more journalists that look like her and less that look like Helen Thomas.

And like you, I'm sorry if there are those who think that is sexist.

integrity, and fewer cute, stupid non-journalist news-readers like Nora O'Donnell. If you want to look at cute women, fine; watch beauty pageants. But let's not put useless bits of fluff like Nora on TV and try to pretend they are journalists -- that's insulting both to women and to real journalists.

13. I don't give a rat's ass what journalists look like
I want journalists to do their job. The content of the reporting is the trump card. This twit isn't fit to lick Helen Thomas's soles.

24. Yeah, but her excessive giddyness is a little over the top ...
She acts like a nervous virgin within a prison lock-up and it is a serious embarrassment to other members of her gender, i.e., grow the f**k up princess!

IMO nothing is more of a "turn on" than an attractive member of the opposite sex who is genuine and interested in others vice self. We know that Norah will never experience the joy of a true love affair because she's far too in love with herself. :P

BTW I would venture to guess that Helen Thomas was quite fetching years back by the standards of her day? To me, she's still as cute as a button. Just because one loses the sexual hotness-type looks doesn't mean there's nothing to write home about. ;)

Some of these old government things needed updating.

So, Bush unilaterally deleted the whole "for the people" thing. Executive privilege.

You're not against progress and change, are you?

Unless your preference is for looks over relevant competence only for women. Which would not be sexist.

are you going to hope they get rid of her and hire the newer, younger journalists.

it's unlikely anyone would make such comments about male reporters. demanding they hire and fire based on their appearance.

35. And your point is...
Yes, I find her attractive, but that doesn't mean much when I'm trying to get credible news...

Granted, I don't watch TV news much anyways...mostly breaking news events...and I don't think I'd be watching any more of it just because they add a few good lookin 'whorenalists' on their station...

39. Saying it isn't sexist doesn't make it so.
I would like to see more journalists do their damn job (like Helen Thomas does)
rather than look cute and sexy for the damn camera.

But if you want to live in a Fantasyland filled with fluff, go right ahead..

Once they fire dumbass Couric in a few years, I hope they give Logan the job. Heck I think Logan would be a much better editor of the newscast than Couric, not to mention a much more pleasant and intelligent on screen personality as well.

20. yep, that was great!
I think her body language said more than anything else when Laura Ingraham came up.

Then there was the great reply to Howard Kurtz: "Well who says things aren't falling apart in Iraq?"

She seems to be very good at getting to the truth in a very succinct way and I'd love to see somebody like that anchoring the CBS Evening News... Lara Logan and Keith Olbermann are the only two current TV news people that come to mind which I have any respect for.
