The Inside Story of Scott McClellan's Resignation

Having just viewed Scott McClellan's resignation speech, you know, the one with Bush standing behind him - the "rocking chair" speech?, I was immediately curious as to WHY McClellan is choosing this time to "voluntarily resign."

I mean, that's what he SAID, right? - that this resignation business is HIS IDEA. Well, that's what he certainly INTIMATED, right? Right?

But there was something about his demeanor as he gave his resignation speech that gave me pause - something in the way he spoke, something in the expression on Bush's face as he stood DIRECTLY behind McClellan and OVERSAW every word that McClellan uttered . . .

And then it came to me. Those of you who are Google-experts: locate and play a video of McClellan's resignation speech. As he gives it, notice his EYES. Notice how they are blinking. They are NOT blinking at a regular rate. No, no, my friends - they are blinking at an obvious, IRREGULAR rate; a rate that SPELLS OUT A WORD IN MORSE CODE . . .

And that word is: T . . . O . . . R . . . T . . . U . . . R . . . E.

Yes, my friends - TORTURE!!!! All doubt is immediately dispelled when one watches Bush's follow up "acceptance" of McClellan's "resignation." The grim look on Bush's face. His mouth was smiling - but his eyes were not.

And so, with the "voluntary resignation" of McClellan, we now look to the future. Who will replace him? The Buzz on the Beltway is that El Busho is looking toward (are you ready for this?) FOX NEWS and a reporter there who will step into McClellan's shoes. As Jon Stewart remarked: "Who would ever think that the White House would select a Fox News reporter to tell America what the White House wants it to hear? I sincerely hope he's up for the job."

Michael Wolff just tore Scotty apart, from stem to stern. It was brutal. I remember reading it Monday thinking "Right On!" and then thinking, Scotty's got hurt reading this, he'll quit

Surely they could see on their own that this boat was sinking?

5. "I have given you my all, sir."

When Scotty said it sounded to me like "my ulcer." Somehow the timing of each Secretary's resignation seems to happen around the time of criminal investigations before coming to communications and knowledge said Secretaries had of some complicit scandal. Ari was rumored to be in deep Plame water and that sort of went off the radar. This guy has similarly blotted up his quota of dark stains and likewise must be discarded. The next dish rag will probably provide some good ole boy camaraderie for the jaded trollops of the DC press corps and someone who might temporarily "disarm" Helen Thomas, though this is doubtful except in spin world.

Every crony appointment so far has set the stage for a new crushing of America and a new advance of war.
McClellan simply isn't effective for a new lie campaign, the next step. It's like changing the drapes. But Rumsfeld? Rove? That would be ripping out the plumbing, the wiring and knocking out walls and the roof. Bush is hardly the kind of guy to actually work at his job.

Despite OUR heroic efforts and drama about confronting Bush over the next Iran War, in reality Bush is walking right over us and the media is veering around us in a big s curve just like last time, insultingly, exactly, as fraudulent as last time.

Was there ever a critical moment when simply the president could be stopped? They did not ever intend to stop and nothing deterred them one bit. They gamed every step of the way for their advantage while we were running after issues, corpses and a flurry of empty discussions. Vaguely better this time there is some direct confrontation so that at least the establishment must voice and face its own futility. Welcome to the truth club. But Bush steams on. Talk is not enough, at least not as yet.

When you meet an "inevitable" man with a crapload of de facto entitlement and power you inevitably must stop him or perish. It is progressing to that inevitable point that is costing humanity very dearly.

7. Bolten got rid of D.C. Scotty and

moved Rove out of the picture, I think, because of Fitzgeralds investigation. Now, if the media asks questions to whom ever takes D.C. Scotty's place about Rove they can say they don't have an answers because Scotty was here then. Simple, this is all about the CIA leaks.

on Scotty's face...not usual "forced" from prior year's press conferences. AND (non-verbally) a sense of TRUE relaxation, and relief. Quite frankly, I've never seen a happier "resignee" in years.

11. i always felt a little sorry for Scotty

when Ari left it was clear that the job takes a tremendous toll on your soul, such as it is for anyone who would work for *. Scotty never seemed up to the challenge, and his mendacity lost its creativity quick.

they should put Rove in there, he's the one constructing the facade of lies they won't back off of no matter the cost. let him get a taste of the medicine he makes his flunkies swallow.
