FOX News Poll: Bush 33%

Yes, ladies and gents the FAUX news poll. Things are really bad for "The Decider" when the republican channel has him a barely 1/3 of approval.

NEW YORK — More Americans disapprove than approve of how George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Congress are doing their jobs, while a majority approves of Condoleezza Rice. President Bush’s approval hits a record low of 33 percent this week, clearly damaged by sinking support among Republicans.

Opinions are sharply divided on whether Rumsfeld should resign as secretary of defense. In addition, views on the economy are glum; most Americans rate the current economy negatively, and twice as many say it feels like the economy is getting worse rather than better. These are just some of the findings of the latest FOX News national poll.

Approval among Republicans is below 70 percent for the first time of Bush’s presidency. Two-thirds (66 percent) approve of Bush’s job performance today, down almost 20 percentage points from this time last year when 84 percent of Republicans approved. Among Democrats, 11 percent approve today, while 14 percent approved last April.

Fox's polling numbers have never been noticeably outside the margins. They twist and spin in the way their signature commentators present the news and analyze what's going on, but I don't think I've ever seen them present an outright falsehood except when it's sourced to the administration's lies or the BS from independent conservative groups. They don't make up their own propaganda and the news reporting division really does report facts without any more "discretion" than the other news outlets.

That's how bad it is. Approximately 33% of this country believe that all that matters is having the right religious beliefs, and will do anything to get the theocracy elected.

This is the irreducible core of those who will back Bush no matter what, and will never admit that Bush has made a single mistake, in order to keep Bush strong enough to impose the theocracy--or at least outlaw abortion and gays.

I come to this from the fact that Alan Keyes got 27% of the vote in the Illinois race against Barack Obama. Keyes had zero to recommend himself except his christianity--he couldn't even count on a local family or friends, since he had none in Illinois, having been paradropped from Maryland to take over the race. No experience, no base of support, no agenda--except an unapologetic desire to bring christianity to government.

He campaigned in churches, mostly. His platform was to bring religious reform to government and return it to christian values. That's it.

And he got 27% in a BLUE state against an extremely attractive opposition candidate, who actually lived here, worked here, and stood for pretty moderate positions.

Additionally, if you look at polls about those who would believe Clinton killed Vince Foster or that Clinton should be impeached, you get about a third.

Therefore:

A third of America will say anything, vote for anything, absolve anything, in order to get their agenda imposed on us.

And they are in charge today.

But at least the GOP in Congress have quit the 100% rubber stamping of W's insane radical agenda.

They abdicated their role of checks and balances when they endorsed so many of those insane policies.
