5. 'Billionaires for Bush' didn't have even one vote--and they're the chief
beneficiaries of the junta. So I voted for them. It's been a great ride for them. They will never jump ship. But then, you have to realize what the ship is. It's not Bush. It's not Cheney. It's the fascist cabal that installed them. And THAT ship will continue to sail, will fight like cats to hang onto most of the tax breaks and deregulation and military porkbarrel they believe they are entitled to--whoever they consent to install as the next president--and will be back for more lashings of the poor, more cannon fodder, more U.S. taxpayer support, whatever they need to glut themselves with. They have no problem with mass murder, torture, and massive thievery--or domestic spying, or outing CIA agents to enhance war profiteering, or whatever. It's not scandal to them. They are Bush's base, the Haves's. They commit similar atrocities every day. The only issue for them is what they can get away with. You may even find some of them vilifying Bush & Co.--if it seems expedient, P.R.-wise. But they won't mean it. It's not the same as jumping ship at appalling behavior, or out of fear. Nothing appalls them. And these people won't be jumping ship because they fear getting snagged. They will never get snagged.

8. Hey, that's not Dame Edna, it's the Quaker Oats guy
in a dress and pearls.

The religious right will be the last to jump ship. If they ever do.
