I don't like it when people denigrate her for being "old," "dried-up," or a "hag." People get old.

I don't like it when people focus on her looks gratuitously, in one way or the other. She's far from the ugliest politician out there. She's got great skin and a nice figure; no doubt there are a lot of women her age who wouldn't mind looking as she does.

There's an "ugliness" in the eye of the beholder, and/or something that betrays what's inside -- the way Michelle Malkin can look ugly, while wrinkles or "flaws" on a much older, kinder face can look lovely. I am sure there's a bit of that in the ways DU sees Katherine Harris.

But for me, the issue is how she's using her looks and sexuality. It's just weird.

As I posted elsewhere: Right or wrong, there IS such a thing as using one's looks and sex-appeal as "power," especially for young women who have little power. (Not saying it's good, not even saying it works.) Maybe she's grown so accustomed to thinking of herself that way, she can't realize it's time to STOP.

She's got plenty of power. There's no need for her to use sex, flirtation, or "Spunk and Moxie" the ways she does -- it fact, it's unseemly, inappropriate, and makes her seem far LESS serious than she could otherwise.
