My experience today: I'm a server in a locally owned restaurant in a town I would rather not identify. Today, I had the distinct pleasure *sarcasm* of serving a party of eight Republicans who are working on the Jim Talent campaign. I got to be that "fly on the wall" as I was serving them. Apparently, the pukes are in panic mode. They were talking about their struggles to get their base out to vote, and it seems that Claire McCaskill is doing much better than they expected her to do so early on. I was having a lot of fun listening to them plot and plan, trying to figure out how they can win against someone who clearly is very popular around these parts. They started talking about immigration, and my server assistant was helping me pass out their lunches. One said, "We need to build a 50 foot high wall to keep them out". Then, "They need to go back where "they" came from, "they" don't contribute anything". Ok, I can accept, however ridiculous their views, their right to say them. However, my server assistant is Mexican, and he WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE. He is also one of the hardest working, most honest and thoughtful individuals I have ever worked with. By this time, I was fuming, and cursing them out under my breath. It was very difficult for me to continue my job at this point. You better believe I added the minimum gratuity to their bill, and was very grateful when they finally left. Why do these people have be such ASSHOLES?? Just wanted everyone to know that the pukes aren't at all confident in their ability to actually win in November, at least not in this area, which is as red as it is possible to be.
