Republicans are panicking in Missouri
My experience today:
I'm a server in a locally owned restaurant in a town I would rather not identify. Today, I had the distinct pleasure *sarcasm* of serving a party of eight Republicans who are working on the Jim Talent campaign. I got to be that "fly on the wall" as I was serving them. Apparently, the pukes are in panic mode. They were talking about their struggles to get their base out to vote, and it seems that Claire McCaskill is doing much better than they expected her to do so early on. I was having a lot of fun listening to them plot and plan, trying to figure out how they can win against someone who clearly is very popular around these parts.
They started talking about immigration, and my server assistant was helping me pass out their lunches. One said, "We need to build a 50 foot high wall to keep them out". Then, "They need to go back where "they" came from, "they" don't contribute anything". Ok, I can accept, however ridiculous their views, their right to say them. However, my server assistant is Mexican, and he WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE. He is also one of the hardest working, most honest and thoughtful individuals I have ever worked with. By this time, I was fuming, and cursing them out under my breath. It was very difficult for me to continue my job at this point. You better believe I added the minimum gratuity to their bill, and was very grateful when they finally left. Why do these people have be such ASSHOLES??
Just wanted everyone to know that the pukes aren't at all confident in their ability to actually win in November, at least not in this area, which is as red as it is possible to be.

4. Thanks. We need to hear this kind of stuff. It helps keep our sanity!
I'm intrigued by the comment "Didn't expect her to do this well this early". Anybody know how WELL McCaskill is doing? Is she ahead of Talent, or is the gap getting a little too thight for them?

5. Race started in a dead heat
Talent is momentarily ahead, but the gap seems to be closing, and it's still early. Claire is popular in Missouri; she did a lot here as a Prosecuter, and her name is well known.
BTW, I added the gratuity to their bill, which is allowed here at my job, 17% for parties of 6 or more.

6. GOOD FOR YOU! You need to check with your boss to see if
he allows an add on for hazardous duty pay! Having to deal with customers like that causes severe mental distress!!!!!

7. I'm a provider of professional services ....
and I set my fees based, essentially, on how work each assignment will take to complete .... and then adjust up or down to account for what its worth.

For some clients I also apply what I freely and openly call an 'asshole factor'.

Some choose not to work with me. Others respect my honesty and I rebate the asshole charge at the end ... if they've been good.

9. as a former waiter, I hope you used their breadsticks for a prostate exam
before serving them.

It amazes me how many people don't know the most basic rule of restaurant dining: don't insult your server if you can't see where the food is prepared.

10. Call Claire McCaskill ASAP and tell her what they had to say!!!!!

there is no waiter/diner confidentiality requirement and this would be a minimum payback for them treating you and your co-worker as if you have no brains, no feelings. The fact is that pigs like these GOP operatives do not consider people like you to be human beings as they define it.
