Oh please, not another fuc*ing g*dd*mn---- blowjob thread
Aside from the fact that some of us make the mistake of thinking that GD: Politics is more literate or thoughtful or SOMETHIN than GD, HERE'S THE THING:

The whole point of the persecution and IMPEACHMENT of President Bill Clinton for the offense of lying about having had oral sex was TO DEMEAN THE PRESENCE AND CHEAPEN THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY AND PAVE THE WAY FOR A TOTAL IMBECILE TO OCCUPY THAT OFFICE.

And as much petty, prurient, pre-school glee as "our side" continues to get out of talking about blow jobs JUST FEEDS THE NEO-CON BULLSHIT REGIME.

:hi:

3. And a total imbecile was found to fill it, too. You hit a main vein
in American life, omega minimo, that of lowered expectations and "dumbed down" institutions, so that higher ground is no longer built into the expectations of the citizenry for even its most esteemed roles.

During the Clinton impeachment hearings friends in Europe repeatedly expressed stupefaction that the government of the United States was so obsessed with a president's sexual dalliance. Colombian Nobel Literature winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez, asked his opinion of Clinton's moralistic detractors, declared them to be "prurient shit-eaters."

Linda Tripp is not solely to blame; she was merely the one who dropped the lit match in the dry meadow. But the notion of betrayal, of "snitching" still resonates behind her motivation to contact Ken Starr about the blue dress. Who would now wish to be Linda Tripp's friend, and what is trust worth when it hasn't been worth much for a while now.

An attorney friend, an avowed Democrat, told me then he did not "give a good goddam about Monica Lewinsky," that it was a matter between Bill and Hillary Clinton. He saw it as a strictly personal issue involving one marriage. Kept private, trust remained a working variable.

The Immigration issue, as well as environmental awareness/energy conservation, and certainly the disaster in Iraq, all conspire to force the GOP to either re-inven titself with a significantly modified platform for 06 and 08 or risk losing the bigoted base it has built up for so long. It can no longer trust the distrust it has made mainstream.

'Appreciated your post.

4. Thank you all for some resonance
While it was going on, it seemed so OBVIOUS that the OFFICE was being denigrated-- not just the man, Bill Clinton-- that we wondered WHY?

The answer is *.

As fer Tripp-- now maybe it's ironic that that whole mess began with ILLEGAL WIRETAPPING.

"...all conspire to force the GOP to either re-inven titself with a significantly modified platform for 06 and 08 or risk losing the bigoted base it has built up for so long. It can no longer trust the distrust it has made mainstream."

"It can no longer trust the distrust it has made mainstream." Well said. (You mean Total Hypocrisy has its limits? )

7. Also... I Believe It Was Intended To Make Impeachment Of The Imbecile...
unpalatable to the American public.

As in, "Oh no, we don't want to go through all that again!"

Thereby ensuring the completion of the Imbecile's terms in office.

Your good point well taken............. and .............

It reminds me of the people I talk to (to listen to how they can go along with the whole deadly charade) who still somehow blame Clinton for the current level of corruption and lying "on both sides."

Like the bumpersticker says: When Clinton Lied, No One Died.

9. "We don't want to go through that again" and "It's just tit for tat!"
Any attempt to impeach Bush will just be viewed as "revenge." The freeps are already saying Bush in only in trouble because the liberal media is out to get him.

10. But corruption is different
it doesn't disgust, it angers voters.

The latest poll show nearly half of all voters would support censure.

http://www.pollingreport.com/bush.htm

Over half of all voters don't trust Bushco in the event of a bird flue epidemic

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12411469/

Combine that with the anger over gasoline prices and the escalating war(s) and impeachment isn't far behind.

16. Oh... I'm Not Saying That Their Plans Are Working, Just That I Believe...
that they THOUGHT it would work.

Apparently... even their conspired corruptions are incompetent!

"Just another thread to add to the threads about what we don't want more threads about?"

As you can see TN, there's a little more to it than that

17. ...altho the technical term is
wanker.

This thread is about how the whole nation got wanked with the bogus Clinton impeachment. Because of it, the public awareness of what an impeachable offense is, and the legislative willingness to enforce it, has been reduced to a sad little pile of goo.
