Would the American people think that it was all worth it (Iraq and the
lies of the executive branch) if oil contracts in Iraq resulted in sub $2.00/gallon gas prices. ... Are the citizens of this great nation that shallow?

It would have been nice if we had been given that choice. Think of the fun we could have with the slogan "Oil is more important than Blood" and all the varied slogans we could come up with.

and the blood stopped flowing, then of course people would not be upset.

Why they didn't want to win that war? I do not know. But "not winning wars" is certainly a new concept.
