Happy Earth Day!

Well, today is Earth Day. The day that republicans love to hate. The very mention of Earth Day is enough to make Rush "the big fat idiot" Limbaugh want to go out and illegally purchase a large amount of drugs. Mention Earth Day to Ann Coulter, and her (or his?) Adams Apple starts to quiver. Earth Day is the day that our Dear "Decider" would rather not talk about. After all, Herr Bush has been nothing less than an environmental Anti-Christ. I still cannot understand why the republicans hate the environment so much. Without it, we cannot survive. My best guess is greed. The republicans (those good "Christians") care more about money, war and oil than about clean air, clean water, and saving our remaining forests. I guess we shouldn't be surprised by the GOP's total lack of respect for our Mother Earth. They have no problem with racking up a record national debt for future generations to deal with, so why would they care about such trivial matters as clean air, clean water and saving our last remaining wilderness areas? We Democrats need to stand up for our environment. We cannot be afraid of the Swift Boat Morons, the Faux News idiots, the evangelical nut cases, and the Ann "The Man" Coulter's in this country. If we don't take a firm stand now, future generations will be asking why and how they inherited such an environmental nightmare. They will be wondering just what sort of people could trash the very environment that sustains us. At least they'll be able to look back and see that it was the Democrats that stood up for them and for Mother Earth. Happy Earth Day everyone!

5. I am celebrating Earth Day by

continuing my assult on the dandelions in my yard.
Wait! I do this with an old screwdriver, not poison! It drives my father-in-law crazy!:)
"Well, they're just going to grow back..." he says. I say, "So? At least I'm not putting more poison out in the world. Plus it's way more fun to be outside, taking your time, enjoying the day."

Did I mention my f-i-l is a die hard Faux-watchin', * lovin' Repug... :silly:

I decided that dandelions were my favorite flower. It makes life so much easier.

10. We thought about that too, but

we do have really great lawn that feels pretty nice under the bare feet! What's cool is that I keep them from propogating without actually murdering them - seems like a good lesson for the kid to boot :)
