Here is the text of a letter I received from my Congresscritter Max Baucus.
Thank you for expressing your views about abortion. I know this is a very important issue to you, as it is to me. I respect the strength of your opinion. As you can imagine, this is one of the most emotional issues I have ever faced as a Senator. Many people have contacted me about abortion on both sides of the issue.
Let me start by saying that I do not advocate abortion as a means of birth control, or as a way to deal with a perceived inconvenience. I support abstinence for our young people, contraception for the sexually active, and most importantly, the education of our children to the realities they will face when left to make their own decision about sex. Furthermore, I believe that the birth of a healthy child to healthy parents is one of the most natural and beautiful acts of human interaction.
I believe that choices concerning pregnancy are a matter of deep personal conscience. These are decisions that should be made according to a woman's own circumstances and beliefs -- without unnecessary interference from the government. A woman must make this choice by consulting her family, her doctor, her conscience and her God. Thanks again for your comments.
With best personal regards, I am

think that means he is pro-choice...but talk about putting something delicately!
