It's a freakin shame that Republicans can only identify themselves
with dead folks!

Reagan
Lincoln

They are too ashamed of W and his gang of crooks to use him as a moniker. They won't use Nixon nor GHWB.

Sad but true.

What is worse is that REagan was a crook, too. Incoherent for half of his presidency and wrong for the other half.

And Lincoln would have disowned this gang of REpublicans in Washington today.

So, the future of the Republican Party is dead guys? Paradoxical, eh?

1. Why is that a shame?
Just shows their true colors.

2. On CSPAN2 Book TV they had a guy that wrote a book about Lincoln
and, well, he wasn't assasinated because everyone (on both sides) loved him.

The newspapper clips the man read from that day and time were brutal. No sympathy whatsoever regarding his assasination.

Makes one wonder if after a century and a half, suddenly Lincoln is considered this "great" President when he really wasn't. The country was split (literally) 50-50 at that time too.

Bush wants to "the war president" and that should be the way he is always remembered.

3. I would say that it bodes badly for
the continuation of the gop as a viable choice for alot of America. When you can't name any party statesman who's this side of the dirt nap, it speaks volumes for the place the gop holds in the minds of many, including it's formerly faithful.

4. Do you believe Reagan had anything to do with stopping run away inflation?
That has always been considered his greatest feat.

5. No--I cannot credit Reagan with anything good actually
although I reluctantly admit to voting for him. I was young and foolish at that time.
