1. I am sure that her comment pales
to the chimps when he is off camera. And God forbid they air comments that he deems unsuitable. Peace

2. She's being persecuted because she's Christian...
At least, she didn't tell him he looks like a quail.

5. What was newsworthy . . .
was McKinney's subsequent effort to browbeat the interviewer into agreeing that her comments were "off the record," and could not be used. This woman is an idiot. She is a disgrace and embarrassment to the Party irrespective of her politics. She clearly lacks judgment, and she has no business holding any elected office.

8. Her serving is for her district's voters to decide. I cannot believe
that this incident made the news--it's ridiculously trivial.

9. I imagine things like this are very common
How many times have prominent right wingers been busted saying things they shouldn't, I wonder? But we never know about it, because its usally considered "off the record".

Of course, Im just speculating, but I doubt that this is that unique of a situation. The only unique thing about it, I'd wager, is that the news organization reported on it.

And, besides, what was so damaging about what she said, anyway? In what way was it a "shameful outburst of anger" as I have heard it described?

11. Reagan?
Reagan was busted "joking" about nuking the Soviet Union.

If a politician says something stupid, it is broadcast irrespective of Party. Most, however, have the good sense to be careful about making spurious comments that could be overheard. There is no such thing as an "off-the-record" conversation irrespective of any promises made to the contrary.

All the time wasted on this should have been spent

16. and that fact makes it clear that we vested MORE power in Congress . .
http://january6th.org/reject-fascist-fantasy.html

. . .When we established our Constitution for the United States of America, we yielded NONE of our Sovereignty to ANY institution we created, but we did vest more power in Congress -- our voice -- than in the Judiciary or the Executive.

How do we know we gave Congress more power? Simple. We gave Congress the Power to Impeach the President and members of the Judiciary. (The President and the Judiciary Can’t Impeach Congress).

The design of our constitution anticipated the need balance conflicting interests. When the laws we pass to address specific problems (or an interpretation of those laws) conflict with each other, or with the tenets of our Constitution, we look to the judiciary to resolve these conflicts in a manner that ensures that the application of the law is the best reflection of our will that can be achieved in an imperfect world. As we strive for a more perfect union it is is the work of the Supreme Court to step in and judge whether applicable law and prior decisions are consistent with our guiding principles. . .

One way to get more members of Congress to Wake Up and Stand Up: Go ALL OUT for the ones who are leading the way.

This is a silly distraction and really has no place on CNN. Coz was a fool for believing them when they said they wouldn't ask her about the Capitol Hill police incident. She actually was within her bounds to at least ask them not to use the piece of tape.

W has every question vetted, interviewers are not allowed to look him in the eye without permission ferchristsake. I know this is a fact, I've transcribed the interviews, before they're edited for prime time use. It's how I make a living.

Obviously McKinney must die for the crime du jour. I say give her the electric chair, and make it as painful as possible. We want to see her ears smoke. :sarcasm:

Cynthia McKinney is dangerous, because she doesn't know when to STFU. If only more reps had big mouths like hers we might have a real opposition party.

Edited to add:

She wants to know about the four war games that were taking place on September 11th and how they may have impaired our ability to respond to those attacks, among other things.

14. I expected DUers 2 B a bit more sophisticated
by this time. This is the same rethug smear machine ( tactics) that forced CA SoS Kevin Shelley from office. Obviously, the rethug machine has decided 2 target McKinney. This sort of smear will continue until November. Someone needs 2 explain to McKinney that no matter what she does, the attack will continue, so she needs 2 stop giving them ammunition
