Poll question: When will Bush's national approval rating drop below 30%?
As given by any one of the major national polls? Fox had him at 33% last week.

1. I voted Before the Summer's Out, but with one caveat:
My vote assumes that no major news event happens that swings things in the other direction (another 9/11 or what have you). If it's all business as usual from now till then, I give Bush until the end of the summer before his numbers are in the 20s.

Remember, these last few points will take a LONG time to go by -- we're getting to the point where the only ones approving of him are the people who would approve of him even if he killed a baby on live TV.

2. He's killed thousands of babies in Iraq and hundreds in NO
But those are brown babies, so it doesn't matter.

3. They own the media that conducts most of the polls
Dont think he will ever go bellow 30% unless hes made some world bankers really mad!

The control of the matrix is nothing compared to now!

7. That was my thought.
Even pollsters critical of this administrations policies can't quite believe it, so they are propping up the numbers. But as soon as one admits the facts and publishes the sub 30's numbers, all the rest will, and then they'll all race down to 25.

6. As distressing as it is
About 27 percent of the population is so inbred, intolerant and blind that they will never abandon the creep. Even Nixon was at 26 percent at his nadir. So you add in the wackos who disagree with him but always "support our president, right or wrong" and the befuddled who aren't sure who the president is, and he virtually cannot drop below 30. That's his base; thugs, morons and weirdos.

8. IT'S IN THE NUMBERS -- HE'S 33.4 - WE'RE 66.6
33.4% APPROVE --- 66.6 % DISAPPROVE

666 IS THE DEVILS NUMBER - OR AT LEAST A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK THAT. THE EVANGELICALS AND MONEYED CITIZENRY WILL HOLD STEADY TO THEIR BASE OF 30 PLUS PERCENTAGE POINTS.

10. So, your theory is...
that pollsters are intentionally making sure that Bush support falls at 33.4 percent, just so that the nati-Bush sentiment comes in at 66.6 percent, thereby painting people opposed to Bush as Satanists?

Um... OK then...

9. Never
Numbers you can count on, if this is truly a random sample we are talking.

10% of those interviewed are going to beleive that the rapture is at hand, and no argument can persuade them from it.

Another 20% of those interviewed are going to beleive that any wrongdoing on the President's part--any Puke wrongdoing whatsoever--is part of a Librul media cover-up.

Hell add another 3% or so who are so drunk/stoned/tweeked out/TV addicted/self absorbed that they probably do not know who King Poopypants is. They could be asked if they approve of Nero or Attilla the Hun and they would probably say "yes."

11. Approval ratings
The typical southern Bu$h supporter is not a wealthy person. Pump prices have the potential to totally wreck Bu$h's base in the deep south. This is a kitchen-table/pocketbook issue that even the most rabid Christian fundy can understand. When petrol hits $4/gal (and maybe sooner) in the deep south, Bu$h's approval ratings will be well on their way to approximating his waist size.

Bu$h has crossed the Rubicon.

12. His floor-line is 30%
Edited on Mon Apr-24-06 01:22 PM by Ignacio Upton
There aren't enough people who still support him who are willing to defect. Also, if we have another terrorist attack or some other event that he can selfishly exploit for political gain, then his approval will go back up.

13. I thought it was closer to 40%
Admittedly I botched that one. I thought maybe 38% if he really screwed up, but the string of masochism has been so remarkable it turned more and more of his base against him.

On another site I post at, there is a poll asking about Bush's approval, with five choices including somewhat approve, strongly approve, unsure, strongly dissaprove and some dissaprove. Now, this forum is mostly right wingers but as of this morning there wasn't a single strongly approve vote among maybe 50 votes.

I still think the low Bush approval number is not relevant to the midterms. Even the conservatives who don't approve of Bush will still vote GOP. Likewise, if this were a presidential election year Bush's approval number would be higher, given the same circumstances, since the competitive aspect would kick in and Republicans would be much less admissive they disapprove.
