63 American Servicemembers slaughtered in Iraq so far this month
with six days left to go. I apologize for bringing this up because I know there are many "conservatives" who check in here and they must be just sick and tired of always hearing about how the troops are dying; after all they volunteered, right flag wavers. And no doubt more than that most likely got killed on our highways this past weekend, so dead americans in Iraq, no big deal to "conservatives."

My hate is rational.

1. But Halliburton and mercenaries still got their paychecks, and...
to them, that's what counts.

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives." -- Gen. Smedley Butler

3. too bad
the trend had been down for several months until this month. I was thinking the Iraqis might be concentrating on killing each other.

4. I wonder
how that 60 Minutes story last night about the pre-war intel will sit on the minds of people who lost loved ones over there.

5. Correction: 61 Americans, one Brit, and one Aussie
As far as I'm concerned, chimpy bears a share of responsiblity for the deaths of the Brit and the Aussie as well as the Americans.

6. And 63 families saw the dark sedan pull up in front of the house,
and the solemn uniformed service folks approach the front door. Their hearts sank. And they began to weep before the door was even open. Such a waste.

8. How true
They didn't invade our country or ask for us to invade them.

But they are getting blown up and killed, first by the U.S. and now by each other as sectarian violence spirals out of control.

It is horrible and very very sad.

Also, no mention of U.S. injuries, which are probably 10 times the number of fatalities....missing limbs, brain damage, and other life altering injuries.
