I think Bush might just get there, too.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

And whats odd is that I bet he won't have a clue what he did wrong.

8. They should RESIGN
Now that most everyone sees what the "Bush-bashers" have always seen, perhaps it's time to start ratcheting up a call for his resignation. Nothing's going to change, it can't change, because this is who he is and who he's always been. There's no hope for change unless he and Cheney resign.

Whoever they are. We should be putting faces with companies too. I get the feeling people knew who the railroad and oil and mining tycoons were in the past. We should now too, they shouldn't be able to hide behind a logo. At some point, they'll push Bush-Cheney out, just like they did Nixon.

11. The wheels are off ..... when he hits 20s Repubs will be hard to find
Edited on Mon Apr-24-06 03:20 PM by Blackhatjack
Things are on a downward spiral, and now that the oil companies have a deathgrip on the American consumers, they are going to wring out every dollar of profit they can because they see the handwriting on the wall --Repubs in Congress will be out of power in 6 months, and there will be a rollback of all these energy giveaways. This is really bad for Bush, because he has no leverage over his oil company buds, and people are screaming bloody murder over gas prices, the loss of life and financial black hole in Iraq, and the tanking economy. Hope I am wrong, but the only thing that might save the status quo is either a new war on Iran or another terrorist attack on the homeland.

In any event, Bush cannot remain in office with approval numbers in the 20s for long without Republicans in Congress at least appearing to call him to account.

The wheels are off ... and Bush is or will be soon Kyrtonite to all Repubs.

Keep the pressure on to negotiate directly with Iran. Don't let talk about Iran being run by mad men go unchallenged. That is how it started with Iraq. There's nothing like a Summer War to scramble a Fall election.

21. John Dean was right ... Bush is getting more dangerous
People better pay close attention to what Bush/Cheney/Rove and the neocons are doing. They are not blind to these poll numbers. They still have an agenda. Action by Congress to protect the country will likely be needed before the mid-term elections.

Can you imagine what things will be like if Repubs are swept from office all across the country?

42. Hope is a dangerous alternative, what, with their backs to the wall.
A cornered animal strikes out as a last resort. That is precisely what they will do. They will show their strength through action. They will screw the entire globe even worse, just to be seen as decisive and in control. And the worst part of that is that their core base will celebrate such moves. Being braindead helps with all sorts of issues. Now is the most dangerous time in our country's history.

27. Chris Matthews is the "miner's canary" for the Repubs
You know when Tweety starts asking tough questions and adopting the opposing side that things have gone to hell in a handbasket for Republicans. And there will be even more soon changing sides, hoping the American public will forget how they shamelessly supported and promoted this corrupt Administration. Tweety has seen these poll numbers and he knows Bush is done for, and big changes are coming. For those who will hear, Tweety is the danger warning.

29. There's a reason why Tweety is straying from Bush...
...his brother is running for Lt. GOvernor in Pennsylvania on the republican ticket and god forbid they tie in his brother with Tweety's Bush ass-kissing. Bad enough they have an idiot like Lynn Swann running as governor who has no platform and no plan for Pennsylvania but hopes to win because of his name. Add a brother of a Cable-News Bush suck-up to the ticket spells doom & gloom for repukes in PA

30. Just wait,, $3/gal gas thru Nov will register there as well .....
There are many more important reasons to get rid of these corrupt Repubs than the price of gas, but 6 mos of $3 gas will drive home the point that Bush is going to do nothing to help anyone except his oil company buddies. Would not count my Repub victories in Nov before they hatch, even if I were Tweety's brother or had a football player's name.

36. People notice $3-4 gas, increased prices at grocery, jobs loss ...
.... and they tend to hold those in power accountable when it is their own ox being gored. We are in for a huge financial "train wreck" as $1 billion in adjustable rate mortgages adjust up by the end of the year, and over half of those are barely making it now --on top of credit card pmts doubling in the next few months. Housing prices are dropping across the country, and the jobs being created are mostly service jobs, not the mid $30-40,000/yr jobs they lost.

His numbers could not possibly go up UNLESS we are attacked by terrorists or go to war with yet another country. Then it would not be for Bush, but for the country.
