The way states sued tobacco companies for cancer and other health costs? The most recent revelation by a CIA oil analyst to BBC journalist Greg Palast and cofirmed by a dsm is that the purpose of the Iraq War was to keep the price of oil UP, for the beneift of the oil companies (and we gave them the oil contracts in Iraq too).

Since that removes the last figleaf of a legitimate excuse for the war, securing plentiful and cheap oil to fuel our economy, it seems to me, we should recoup some of the investment of our tax dollars and soldiers lives that the oil companies are reaping the profits of.

I read somewhere that if we paid for cost at the pump of using our military to seize and gaurd oil for our corporations, gas would cost 30% more-- but that estimate was written before the present trillion dollar war.

Oil companies are doing the ultimate socializing risk and privatizing profits scam. We should take that money back.
