5. Dan with a plan...
I want you to know that I will not forget your $475 a month challenge rant.

That affected me at so many different levels.

Tom

9. Intense - definitely
My mother is having the same struggle. I used to send her a little every month to help, but I've been unemployed since Dec. I can barely keep our own bills paid with more than twice that amount. :(

Gracias, Tom.

10. Life is curious, ain't it?
Maybe Danny's rant shines a relatively different light on all of our different situations.

It's so easy to dream of the days gone by
It's a hard thing to think of the times to come
But the grace to accept every moment as a gift
Is a gift that is given to some

What can you do with your days but work and hope
Let your dreams bind your work to your play
What can you do with each moment of your life
But love til you've loved it away

There are sorrows enough for the whole world's end
There are no guarantees but the grave
And the lives that we live and the times that we spend
Are treasures too precious to save

11. As it was so it is, as it is shall it be
Edited on Sat Apr-29-06 12:03 AM by Viva_La_Revolution
And it shall be while lips that kiss have breath
Many waters indeed only nurture Love's seed
And its flower overshadows the power of death

16. Okay, to be honest...
I recognized some of the lyrics... (I had a very eclectic upbringing) but I had to google to get the rest of the lyrics... I knew that wasn't the end of the song. Does that count? :D

streaming Taylor now... liking it... even though I'm a Colorado Girl. ;)

Bluegrass rulz!

I know it's a few years old, but have you heard John Mellencamp's "Cutting Heads" ? Rockin! well, most of it anyway.... simplicity, passion and bluegrass.. with a few kinda crappy ones mixed in. :eyes:

7. Boycotters and Bush are the Same ...
... that is, the boycotters and Bush are on the same side.

They both want a "guest peon" progam to let many more Mexicans come into the United States to do the jobs we won't do anymore, ie, be our servants. Or to provide cheap, no benefits labor for the big transnational corporations.

And, they both want amnesty for all the "undocumented" workers so that they can eventually become citizens. In other words, to keep the political pressure off the corrupt plutocratic Mexican government to ever have to reform and be supportive of their own citizens.

So, if you are anti-Bush, Monday is NOT the day to show it.

21. BUT, On The Plus Side Of That Equation
not that there is much, I don't like the guest worker idea, anyway, because I really don't like the downward pressure it will put on wages...BUT, most Mexicans tend to vote Democratic, so, 11 million more votes for Democrats might be a good thing. Hell, that might even turn TEXAS blue again!

22. I'm out.
I'm an independent contractor and it will cost me $400 but I am sick of the hate and fear that is being spread against barely visible hard working human beings.
