Illegal Immigrants/May Day

I have sat back and really just been reading about all this illegal immigrants comments and just posting sometimes. But I think it is time to make some comments about the back lash and the anger some of us American Latinos are starting to feel, but first I will tell you'll a little about my -self. My ancestors helped financed Columbus trip. No one ever thought that he would have discovered this hole new part of the world. Also I really don't care if he was the first, second or third here. My Spanish ancestors settle in what is now known as The United States, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and at one time before Mexico took over it The Republic of Yucatan. And this is just from my mothers, mothers "The White Latino" side. My Great Great-grandfather and his father were slave owners back in Cuba until Spain abolished it back in 1886. Also my Great Great-grandfather married the girl he was in love with. She was a beautiful slave girl. They moved to The Republic Of Yucatan. Their son married a Mayan women. Now on my mothers father side, this part of the family is just as mixed, some of them came from North Africa and the Canary Islands.

Now on my fathers side all I can say is that they are just your avg. Spanish/Germans/Texans. We are a very mix family and are very proud of who we are. My mom came to the U.S. back in 1948 from Yucatan to study here and live with her auntie in Texas. During this time it was illegal to speak in spanish in Texas. I really get piss when I realize that this is the reason why some many American Latinos in Texas don't know how to speak Spanish. I thank God that my mother would not let them break her from who she was/is. She likes telling her grandkids about how important it is to know about your history and to never fold under pressure from others. She likes telling the story on how she had to correct the teacher/nun at her high school about Texas History. like the reason why Mexico and the American settlers fought (Because Mexico had abolished slavery) or when she was at a swimming pool and they let her in because she was white and they would not let her cousins in because they were brown. So she got into a shouting match with the parks guy telling him that she was part black, which he didn't believe until her grandmother came to pick her up and he saw a African/Spanish women picking up a White girl. Now my dad told us that when he was a teen the cops stopped him because he was with a bunch of wetbacks. You see my dad is 6 ft. and looks very very white, blondie hair and Green eyes. He got into a shouting match with the cop and they took him in. When my Grandfather went to pick him up from the police station, the cops didn't know what to say to my grandfather because he was will known. He worked for the U.S. Government and even worked for JFK.

Now I will write about what it has felt like being brown skin in my America. When I was a kid age 7 that same African/Spanish Grandmother had taken my brother and I to the ice house/mine-mart. She was not allowed to enter because of her skin color (Black!) My brother was the only one that got to go in. You see he is white and I'm not. She had people ask her how much she charged to take care of us kids. They thought she was a Nanny. But one thing this Great women thought us kids was to be very proud of who we were. She taught us to learn about the African American life and to understand that we were all equal.

I have had African Americans, White Americans and even American Latinos call me names. You see I can pass for a lite skin black or latina. I have had to deal with that kind of bull shit all my life. But has this made me feel less proud of who I'm? HELL NO! I'm A American Latino. I have had people give strange looks when my 5 yrs calls me mom. Why??? Because the Spanish/German really shows in him. He has blond hair, fare skin and Blue-grey eyes.

Now how do I feel about the illegals in my Country. I think they should be able to stay if:

1. If they have had kids born here.

2. If there is no kids and they have lived here in our Nation more then 2

years without having a crime record I think they should be able to stay.

3. They do need to learn English, but so do the rest of us.

4. They are my brother and sister and I will fight for their rights to a better live. It is not their fault that our Nations have acted like slave owners!

So I will be on the front line on May Day. I'm will to fight for all our rights, because we are all just humans. What our Governments have done on both sides of the board shouldn't be the reason to punish these illegal immigrants. We should be a shame of what we all have done to help the Businesses World Rape and in slave people for lower wages. Its time to stand up not only for these illegal immigrants, but for all our rights.

I'M A AMERICAN AND I WOULD RATHER DIE ON MY FEET THEN BE BEGGING ON MY KNEES!
