I must be losing my mind.
I just saw Trent Lott with Barbara Boxer on with Wolfe. He made sense and was I couldn't disagree with him totally as I can with most repukes. Even the railroad situation down there made sense. I am either getting senile or something. I have not been drinking so that is not it. Anyone else see the program. I missed the first 15 min.

2. I've been shocked too.
Lott hates the bushies and they hate him. He's moved to the center since he was ousted as the majority leader. I think it's genuine too.

3. He made a mistake when he said what he said.
We are all victims of our upbringing. However what he said was wrong. Bush an co. exploited his remarks because he would compromise with the democrats to bring out a decent bill. That is the way the gov. should be run. Not everyone thinks liberal or Conservative all the time and there is room for give and take. They thought that frist would kiss ass and he has because he wants to be president. The law however will get him first.

4. There is some debate about the taxpayers moving the RR.
Why not tax the casinos and developers that will gain new oceanfront property?

5. Bleh, it made me laugh
Suddenly, the repukes are giving us the "this has been coming for 30 years!!" line about oil. Yes, while you encouraged it. So, we should drill in ANWR. How original.

Lott knows how to work this sort of media bullshit interview. He will sound reasonable and say vague things like: we are going to look into that, yes, something should be done, I agree... blah, blah, blah. Then you will hear they just passed a bill to do the exact opposite. They are all shameless liars. Just listen with that foremost in your mind at all times.

6. Lott knows the Bush White House either tacitly approved or outright
instigated his ouster as Majority Leader in favor of Frist, THE CAT BUTCHER.

He hasn't forgotten.

There are karmic boomerangs still in orbit out there, and several may come back to slam Dubya in the noggin. Trent Lott as Majority Leader again could be one of them.

8. Hi, sallyseven. He certainly has made a mess of things, hasn't he.
I loved Carl Bernstein's evaluation of the widespread incompetentce and arrogance "on a Nixonian scale."
