The state that gave us the 2000 election, Katherine Harris, and Terri Schiavo is at it again.
"A 14-year-old boy kicked and punched by guards at a juvenile boot camp died because the sheriff's officials suffocated him, a medical examiner said Friday, contradicting a colleague who blamed the death on a usually benign blood disorder."
That's right - Dr. Charles Siebert, the Bay County Medical Examiner originally said that the boy died of sickle cell anemia. A second autopsy by Dr. Vernard Adams, and witnessed by Dr. Michael Baden on request of the family showed the cause of death to be suffocation.
I'm not a doctor, but I can't imagine how those two wildly different causes of death could be mistaken for one another. Was the original autopsy supposed to get the boot camp and sherrif's office completely off the hook?
Jeb was the one who called for the investigation. Now it's time for him to fire the quack pending his prosecution.
