Anybody watching Countdown?
Keith reports that at an event today, the President said to a man in a wheelchair who didn't rise when the Chimp walked in the room: "You look comfortable."

OMG

Did anyone see this? Anyone have a link to someplace else that has this story?

14. UPDATE
I went to the link from that thread and there's a different AP story there.

http://wvgazette.com/section/APNews/News/ap0482n

So I went to Google and entered "bush" & "look mighty comfortable" and found a bunch of links to AP stories about the event.

HOWEVER...the "You look mighty comfortable" bit has scrubbed from most of them. Not all, but most.

Interesting...

8. Does anyone know if Keith is gay?
47, never married, does not have children, never been in the military.

Not that there's anything wrong with that! Just wondering if he is and whether or not that informs his political views.

10. "never been in the military" Were you ever in the military? There are
a whole BUNCH of gay people serving our country.

12. I bet gays serve in the military
less, percentage wise, than straights.

27. And what would you place the faith of that bet in? When were you in?
I was in for 8 years, and I would wager that there was a HIGHER percentage of gays in the military than in the civilian population.

Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they don't want to serve. Hell, in my experience, rich straight fratboys are the ones MOST LIKELY to avoid military service. :eyes:

11. I've sent him flirty emails, and he hasn't responded, so I doubt it.

Actually, he's known to have dated various women, and supposedly has a note on his mirror with dating advice that says: "Actresses act".

17. Stories we've heard about his dating
include Laura Ingraham (apparently didn't go well), and he once explained on his show that the note on his mirror was meant to remind him that if you're dating an actress, remember that she may in fact be "acting", as opposed to being authentic.

25. Serving in the military is a very bad indicator for that.
Very very unreliable. For one thing, a relatively small percent of our population has. Secondly, I personally know of closet cases(a very few people know they're gay, but they obviously don't come out because they want to be in the military) who are in the military. I'm sure the percent is just as high as the general population.

Never married is once again a bad indicator. There are plenty of straight men who have never married.

19. Well, don't you think it's a bit prejudicial to assume a man's gay
Edited on Wed May-10-06 08:20 PM by BerryBush
just because he's 47, never married, and never served in the military? (I'm only a bit younger and the same is true of me, but I'm as straight as they come.)

Fact is, aside from the fact that Keith occasionally talka about his dating life on the air, and has never been reported or even rumored to have done so with anyone other than females (and Lord knows he has enough conservative enemies who would be all OVER any rumor like that), I think the biggest factors that would point to his not being gay is that a) he said once that he wasn't (without belaboring the point) and b) he's very gay-positive and gay-friendly.

I get the impression that if he WERE gay, he would have just said so a long time ago--not thinking of it as some sort of badge of shame, as he was expected to do--and people would have long ago learned to accept that and deal with him as he is.

20. Hi Berry- just wanted to clarify that my post was referring to
"yes" I think everyone watches him, and not to Keith's sexuality.

Whether Keith is gay or not is irrelevant to me. I love his brain.

KO is very nonjudgmental, unprejudicial, and even-handed.

Part of why we like the guy, and the work he does.
