Change phone service and support progressive causes at the same time
When you pay your bill, 1% of the total goes to 50 progressive organizations.

I just switched over today and would like to spread the word. I used to have Verizon, but not any more!!

The progressive phone company is Working Assets. 800-362-7127.

Make the change!!

4. Working Assets is very suspicious. It is privately owned and they
don't release their financial figures.

I get phone service through an internet company (not VOiP) for less than 3 cents/minute and all taxes/fees are included in that; there are no monthly fees.

Why does Working Assets charge almost twice as much, plus a substantial monthly fee? The amount of money it donates cannot possibly be anything more than a small percentage of its profits (and what do its execs get paid as compensation??)

Working Assets refuses to make public its financial data.

In my opinion, it is a scam: it has found a way to get people to channel their money to them by appealing to all of our wishes to help others. It then donates a relatively small amount of it's profits to various organization. But it doesn't provide detailed financial data to ensure us that the small number of owners of Working Assets are not getting exceptionally rich.

Working Assets has been requested to provide detailed financial data and they refuse, saying it would give away company strategy.

I find I can give far more directly, using what I save by *not* using Working Assets, than Working Assets gives. (Is it better for Working Assets to give something, while deceiving millions of people? No. Those millions could give even more if they got cheaper phone service. Or, Working Assets could give a much greater percentage of their profits to these organizations. Working Assets, in their deception, is even worse than the major phone companies ... and I am aware of how bad the major phone companies are. But at least they're not deceptively pocketing profit which could be going to charities.)
