Think about it. Feds pull guard outta Iraq = hey, we lowered the number of combatants in Iraq! Just in time for elections. Helps GOP Congress Cretins.

Put Guards in Southwest (where there happen to be a couple of DEM governors) under the command of those governors. Hey, Richardson and Napolitano just got themselves an army!

But, don't let those guards have weapons or authority to do anything constructive... Gee, Richardson and Napolitano STILL didn't fix those broken borders!

GOP gets to scream: We pulled soldiers off the War on Terra to help them out! They not only failed at the border despite all the help the GOP gave them, they further weakened the nation by wasting time, money, troops that could have been looking for Osama! Time to get new governors!

It is an attempted GOP coup on the states of AZ and NM!

1. That'll work as long as the Dems in Congress keep rolling over
and playing dead on this issue.

They should be HOWLING about the artificially LOW MINIMUM WAGE that allows SCUMBAGS to recruit workers in Mexico, smuggle them across the border, transport them across the country, and exploit the hell out of them for less pay than it takes to keep a human being alive in this country!!!

What is it going to TAKE to light a fire under those miserable wimpy bastards in Congress?

In 36 horus this weekend, the local cops busted several vans with a total of 90 illegals being shipped to specific jobs in the northeast.

GOD DAMN IT, attack the real problem for a change!!

3. I agree there has to be economic justice globally
Not gonna happen in what's left of my lifetime. And if illegal is a problem, it's the employers who create it.

But back to this specific stunt. It is pure Rove Trifecta Play

They kept the twit locked away from the real news all weekend so he could bone up for his big speech. Not just a diversion for us but one for the tantrum thrower in chief too.

They toss some bones around to their base and GOP Congressmen. Tough on illegal aliens and there will probably be a bit of a draw down on troops in Iraq. There are some campaign gimmes for GOP.

By putting impotent guards without guns or arrest authority under the DEM governors of AZ and NM, they set them up to fail before the nation. Makes for a big issue for and GOP putz running against Richardson or Napolitano. Gee, the pResident gave you guys an army but the problem is still there...

When the feds start seriously busting the chops of employers/exploiters of poor workers the problems will lessen. Until then, all is hollow rhetoric. And tonight's hollow rhetoric has hidden poison for DEMS. I advise DEMS on the Hill to fully consider that anything advocated by this junta is bad policy for America.
