NSA officer to testify in closed session
Former NSA Intelligence Analyst & Capabilities Officer Russ Tice reports today via email:
"I am set to testify in closed session to the Senate Armed Services Committee about the SAP programs I was involved with at NSA and DoD on Wednesday, 17 May 2006. I am to meet with Senate staffers in the Russell Senate Office Building, in room 228, at 12:57pm EDT. From there, we will immediately be moving to a secure locations that is accredited for SAP level discussions. I apparently will not know where this location is until I am escorted to it on Wednesday."
I hope everyone will let the dust settle from all of this unfocused excitement swirling around *'s immigration speech last night, whether Rove's indictment is going to be this week or next, whether the VP is next on Fitzgerald's list, the gambling/prostitution ring at the Watergate, flag burning amendments, anti-gay amendments, polls, Tony Snow's breakdown on his job today, today's just-released Pentagon photos of Flight 77 from September 11, 2001.....
Keep your eyes on the ball, everyone.
And that is
the all-out assault on our civil liberties by the unwarranted wiretapping of U. S. citizens, political adversaries of this administration, and media reporters who are trying to report what is happening to our country. We can no longer depend upon the U. S. Constitution to protect us against this rogue government. We all must fight.
IMHO, the biggest vulnerability of the NSA and *Co in all of this is that a court will rule that what they have done is illegal and in violation of the rights of U. S. citizens. Let's press this fact as hard as we can!
Let's keep our eyes on Mr. Tice's testimony tomorrow.
