Today, I am officially announcing my intent to seek reelection. I have never before sent a general email asking for help, but the stakes are simply too high at this point in our Nation's history.

Because I have been so outspoken in repeatedly speaking out against the excesses and abuses of the Bush Administration, and because the right wing fears that I will be chosen to chair the House Judiciary Committee if Democrats assume the Majority, the GOP hit man has come after me.

on my mailing list.

I may not be able to make large donations, but if enough of us send small donations it will make all the difference in the world.

I kind of prefer donating to the politician over donating to one of the umbrella orgs like dccc. I don't like their wimpy approach to what needs to be done or about speaking out about matters. I got a call for a donation from dccc a few days ago and I told them on the phone how I felt about Raul Emmanuel (I think I got his name right). He is too centrist for my taste (although I might still send them a small donation anyway. I'm a sucker for the party sometimes when I am in a good mood.)

--if a candidate is NOT promising to push for impeachment, I'm not voting for that person. PERIOD.
* is a TRAITOR to the nth degree, in so many ways. To NOT impeach would be criminal.
I intend to send Rep. Conyers as much as I can BECAUSE he is one of the few who "gets it"--and that's saying something because most of the time I am totally broke.

You might want to vote repuke, since you think "impeachment" is a *gasp* dirty word. those are the kind of people who agree with you.

I've suggested this before but I feel compelled to keep posting it because I really believe that the netroots as a political force could make this happen if only we could get the ball rolling.

With the recent antics of Poltroon Pelosi and the Euphemedia obsessed with their distracting Presidential horserace handicapping for '08, now may be the time for this idea.

We can give the Euphemedia exactly what their addicted to: A Presidential Candidate. Right Now.

And we can give ourselves, and the rest of the True American People what they crave. A real chance to TAKE ACTION to TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK.

The best way to take our country back and remove the usurping election thieves may well be to launch a campaign to just do it. A real "presidential" campaign.

We must Draft John Conyers to run President. Right Now. Conyers2007!

Yes, really. Here's the plan.

We engage in a national, full out, presidential campaign (with fundraising, rallies, polls, etc...) to have Mr. Conyers elected Speaker of the House once the Dems take back congress in '06.

The only promise the candidate makes is to impeach/remove bush/cheney and then work, as the New President, to reverse the damage of their illegitimate reign of power/terror (yes terror -- there is no other word for threatening the nation with "mushroom clouds in 45 minutes").

Now, before all the well-trained defeatists start in, let me say that the "success" of this effort is not necessarily about actually resulting in Mr. Conyers moving in to the People's House. We would be drafting him to be a vehicle for our assertion of the People's (battered) Sovereignty over this once-great nation.

There's nothing the DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy attends to more than a presidential candidate. And there's nothing that activates supporters better than a leader to rally around.

This effort could go a long way to accomplish what we need most, to nationalize the '06 elections as a referendum on bush failures/crimes.

We can take out the cancer of the bush regime and the benign tumor of our DC Dem "leadership" with the same campaign.

The effort could start right here, right now, on this blog. It's up to us.
