Why did Clark do so much better in Oklahoma?

Clark didn't seriously contest Missouri or South Carolina.

11. Well, first of all..

he did place 2nd in 3 other states aside from his win in Oklahoma..the only way he could have placed better was to win them, but Kerry has the big mo right now.

The places that he placed below 2nd in were states that he didn't fight very hard for: Delaware (not exactly Clark's key region), Missouri (went heavily for Kerry after Gephardt withdrew), and South Carolina (Edward's to win w/ Kerry challenging him after gaining the momentum).

Winning 3 solid second-place wins and Oklahoma, that puts his campaign into serious forward motion in the eyes of the public and it gives him a much-needed boost going into the next round of primaries coupled with a HUGE boost in delegates.
