1. Is that what Dean hopes for?
If the races are close, Clark and Edwards will be fine.

11. I don't know
You also said Dean would win Iowa big - "take it to the bank."

See, my memory is one of the few things I have left that is still working. :)

16. Dean will have no where to turn.
Maine isn't any big prize and he is going no where in TN and VA.

4. No. Not that that's likely.
As long candidates have money, and the frontrunner still doesn't have a clinching number of delegates, they should continue.

This whole process is turning out to be a giant boon to the Dem party. Why cut it short? Even without all the good Dem press getting out, a hard-fought battle in the primary will make the one who emerges a much better candidate in the fall.

6. I think I am tending to agree here.
I have been saying that I thought we should get our nominee as soon as possible. But... as long as we aren't just trashing the hell out of each other, then why stop? Small attacks are ok as long as focus on GW. Look at the polls. Kerry is beating GW. Edwards is beating GW. He has the lowest numbers ever. All the attention that all these votes get just focus people on us. Clean the debate clean and civil with our eyes on Nov and let's keep the primaries rolling through March.

5. Is Virginia that Southern?
Virginia is kind of the interesting one. 1/3 of the state is N. Virgina (and maybe more of the Dem vote) and N. Virginia isn't very Southern at all. The Tidewater has a heavy Navy presence (Kerry's branch vs Clark's Army).

I could see Clark or Edwards winning Tennesee, but I'd think Virginia is going to be tougher for either of them barring a Kerr misstep.

9. it is an interesting state
They don't serve sweet tea in NOVA as a rule, but they do an hour away in Richmond. Anything is possible.

7. Kerry is leading in polls in both states
I don't see how Clark or Edwards can really run against him if they lose those primaries. What else do they have? Wisconsin? Please.

8. Wow! I don't see that at all.
Clark and Edwards still have states that they'll do well in and especially seeing as only 10% of Dem voters have weighed in, I think it's way too early for ANY of the campaigns to withdraw.

10. Not in this lifetime.
I have every reason to believe that the whole remaining field is in to stay until at least the middle of March and probably even through the convention.

14. Your reasoning is bad.
Super-Tuesday is March 2. Unless you believe that these 3 will keep winning, it doesn't make sense.

19. What is this obsession with which candidate should drop out?
It seems to be half of the posts in this forum. Why don't we all just work toward supporting our candidate and let it play out.

20. I think if Kerry wins both who ever comes in third should drop out.
If two different candidates come in third then they both should drop out.
