MA vacancy laws
Does anyone know how Senate vacancy laws work in MA? If Kerry becomes the nominee early enough, can he resign his seat in time for a special election to be held concurrently with the Nov. election? This would prevent Romney from appointing a Republican, although obviously it would mean that Kerry would be out of office if he did not win the Presidency.
