Nader on NPR, it's "Liberals" practicing "Censorship" to ask him not to
run. The questioner gently tried to make the distinction between asking someone not to do something stupid and physically stopping someone from doing something stupid.

No dice. Ralph's freedom of speech is to make an ass of himself while alienating former supporters.

Also, Ralph spits out the word "liberal" like Hannity.

Pathetic.

8. He was just on NPR, so I don't think I'm adding too much
thought about him.

We just need to be vigilant about the danger of "Politics-as-therapy" that Nader preaches:

Running for President isn't about what's good for the country, it's all about his freedom of speech.

7. I think if he runs again very few people will actually vote for him
this time out. His big moment was four years ago and he's no longer the celebrity that he used to be. Just my opinion.

That said, I would just like to add by way of a personal note that I despise that lazy-eyed fuck.

11. You know what?
If Nader runs, it won't make a damn bit of difference. Nobody will endorse him and nobody will vote for him.

I voted Nader in 2000. At the time it was the right thing to do. Now that there is no danger of a Lieberman candidacy I can confidently say: You couldn't pay me enough to do it again.

I imagine this is how most 2000 Nader voters feel, and if he can't figure that out, well, he's an idiot. So, if he wants to waste his own time and money, let him. If Roy Moore runs as an independent, he'll be a bigger spoiler for Bush than Nader ever will be for us.

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

12. I heard that interview..... Now, I'm vascillating between sheer anger
at Nader, to unbelievable amazement (and sadness) at his level of denial. Nader has had such an impact during his life. Sadly, I think his ego has taken over and he is at risk of becoming nothing more than a shell of his former self or even a pathetic focus of ridicule.

For those who did not hear, he equated the efforts of his former progressive supporters to convince him not to run (via their naderdon't run website) as a form of censorship. When the NPR interveiwer tried to press him that requesting that he not run did not mean he was not free to speak out nor that this group wanted him not to speak out, he just kept on with his blind conviction that this was an overt attempt to deny him his first admendment rights.

Pathetic...

16. I think he lost his last gung ho group of supporters when it became
obvious that he continually blasted/attacked democrats far more often and severely than he did (and does) Bush and the RW. That is the most overt example of his inconsistency (hypocrisy).

22. I am shivering with anger after that interview
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 06:54 PM by WWW
Did Nadar take votes away from Bush in 2000?... or from Gore? Did Bush become president? Did 3,000 people die under Bush on 9/11 and did 500 American soldiers die in Iraq? Did thousands of innocent Iraqi women and children die in the war? And Nadar is worried about his right to free speech. Unbelievable. I am so angry right now.

I so wish I could swear on this thread.

p.s. I just sent him a note urging him not to run. And it was polite.

24. Nader's been missing since 2000
I don't blame Nader for 2000. In fact I agreed with much of what he said and would;ve voted for him had I not worried about what happened happening.

Nader has done nothing worthwhile politically speaking since the Selection. No cause, no real advocacy. Sure he makes some appearances and speeches...but that's his job.

He has nothing to run on. He should stay home. If he does run, I hope nobody makes the same mistake twice.
