NC Senator to Talk in Tennessee, Virginia February 5 - 6

ROANOKE, VA: Senator John Edwards (D-NC) Thursday will kick-off his two-day "Strengthening American Jobs" tour through Tennessee and Virginia, speaking to voters about the importance of strengthening America through job creation.

"There is something fundamentally wrong with the way our economy is moving and it is putting our national security at risk," Edwards said. "Look at an economy that has shipped 1 million good paying jobs overseas in a race for cheaper labor; an economy with such a big trade and capital deficit that we have to borrow $1.5 billion a day from China and foreign investors just to stay afloat; an economy where CEO pay has grown by 3,000 percent but pay for working people has grown just 10 percent, and health benefits and pension benefits keep getting smaller. During my 'Strengthening American Jobs' tour, I will talk with the people of Tennessee and Virginia my plan to strengthen America by creating jobs."
