Candidate Match-Up Survey (You May Have Seen It... But It's NEW To Me)

It's like a dating service. You're asked to describe to what degree you favor or oppose certain issues. When the values for all your answers are totaled, the final page shows you which candidates most closely match your viewpoints.

It's a fun tool. Even if it doesn't guide you in the direction you think it ought to, it gives you a chance to think about which issues are most (and least) important to you.

The survey picked Kucinich as coming the closest to matching my opinions on the issues. Next was Sharpton.

That's nice. I kind of figured that would be the case. --- I'm still leaning toward Kerry or Edwards or Clark. We'll see how I feel next month.

I found some of the questions a bit unclear.  An example is
the "No Child Left Behind Act"--favor or oppose? 
Well, does that mean what the Republicans said was the purpose
of the act, the language of the act itself, the way it's
implemented now, or the effects it will have on teaching in
the future?  

I'm not surprised that my answers returned a match with
Kucinich.  But would I vote for him?  Probably not.  I would
probably vote for the candidate most likely to defeat the
current regime.

I answered "neutral" even though I am displeased with how it's being implemented.

and Kucinich 96. Dean was 4th with 89% (I guess that 11% was an ideaological gulf for me)

Unfortunately, from what I can tell, the site doesn't differentiate between 5 days in the military and 38 years. No matter how I weighted the "military service" constraint, the Clark/Kerry gap remained even with both candidates moving, in sync, up and down my preference list.

I do like Kucinich, but I know he can't beat Bush and I'm going to be one of "those" people. I wouldn't vote for Sharpton if he was the last man on this earth. If Kerry wins over all Dems it's going to be difficult to support him...*SigH* And Dean...my man...only 86%? What is going on here!

I am, however, proud that Bush only got 8%. I wonder what I *do* agree with him on, though?
