I will make sure Kerry is held accountable for his rematrks on the MA Supreme Court ruling. Some people have given him a pass on IWR 500+ dead now. Now he wants 2nd class citizens, which I would be one of. Kerry has drawn the line, I get hit by Bush no matter how I turn. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Who is FOR gay marriage? Last week Bush came out for a gay marriage constitutional amendment and everybody was willing to accept civil unions. Dean is for civil unions. Kerry is for civil unions. I just cannot understand this thinking when Kerry is continuously held to a different standard than every other candidate.

Ya better watch that broad generalization. I'm straight as a line, and even I can see that saying two people can't get married is relegating them to second class citizenry.

Kerry lost me on that one. I can't think of one single reason to work for him if he gets the nod.

And by the way, Clark said that if states want to call it civil union, they can. If they call it marriage, then it should be recognized as such. Kerry's statement was right in line with Bush's "defense of marriage act." It sickens me.

He sees it as a matter of EQUAL RIGHTS. He is for partners getting the same survivor's and spousal benefits under SS, the same rights to non-discrimination in housing and banking, etc. to include ALL the benefits that other married couples have.

If this is a DECIDING ISSUE FOR YOU, I suggest you get together with your friends and start having FUNDRAISERS for Dennis. The more money he gets, the higher his visibility. The higher his visibility, the more likely his positions will be heard. JUST DO IT!!

Did you catch the interview in The Advocate? Clark already said that he has no problem with gay marriages OR civil unions... it's all terminology to him, and he's fine by any standard.

12. But if it is not a MARRIAGE, the legal things of the federal government

do not apply. The spouse in a "civil union" cannot get Social Security on the record of his/her partner, they cannot file joint income tax,etc., etc. ad infinitum.

This is NOT just a question of SEMANTICS, what you might call it, marriage or civil union, as Clark would have you believe. There are definite LEGAL differences, and civil unions would be a second-class status.

Kerry favors civil unions and wrote one of the very first federal anti-discrimination laws concerning gays in the workplace.

When my friend Vincent Chalk was petitioning the USSC in the very first AIDS discrimination case in the entire NATION back in the 80's, Kerry's office was extremely helpful to him, having been one of the first senators in America to speak out about this.

He won his case..a case won for every person with aids in the workplace...he died.

Kerry's position is no different than Dean's and Clark's.
