I am afraid I will just have to hold my nose, hit my head against a wall a few times and vote for Cantwell. I am not going to be happy about it either. My possible vote for Cantwell, and I hope for all hope that she does not get the primary win, will not be my approval or support for what she has done and not done in the Senate. I am referring to her willingness to support Bush's criminal act of invading another country, the Patriot Act, worker-exploiting free trade agreements, and the shift to the ultra-right in the Supreme Court. You can tell me all about how she took on Ted Stevens of Alaska and Enron all you want until you are blue in the face. That does not change what she has done with the other equally important issues. Our rights, our security, and worker's rights are just as important as energy and the environment.
I am tired of our leaders in the Democratic Party compromising their principles and going along to get along. I want the Democratic Party to fight, fight, and fight the Neocons. If we do not have a party that is willing to do this, then democracy in this country and the choices we have in that process are a joke. We need more choices and in fact we need more parties and choices in our electoral process. Why do we need only two parties? How about 5, 10, or 100 political parties? The American people need to have more choices. Unfortunately, we don't and so we are stuck with only two choices. For now anyway.
My vote whoever wins the party's primary will be a Democrat. If it is Maria Cantwell, then I will vote for her but that is as far as I will go. No money contributions, no signs, or volunteering. Just cast my vote and a trip to the toilet to kneel down and.....:puke: I hope the win of Ned Lamont in Connecticut will not be a fluke. I hope there will be a change within the Democratic Party for everyone's sake and this country's sake.
