the important point in this story, which is almost certainly tainted by US government interference (read controlled media), MAY BE that a message is being sent that the Iraqi government is able to defend itself against outside interference by "evil Al Qaeda terrorists" ...
when Zarqawi was killed, the story talked about a strategic US airstrike and how US forces quickly arrived on the scene ... this time, the US role is invisible ... it seems like the symbolism we are being sold with this "great capture" is that the Iraqi government can handle itself ...
maybe, just maybe, this is an early prelude to bush trying to differentiate between "outside agitators" like Al Qaeda versus the Sunni-Shiite civil war ... maybe this is a preparation for a US exit where bush claims credit for driving the "evil terrorists" out of Iraq and argues that the internal civil strife is a domestic political matter for the Iraqis to resolve ...
so, it's the symbolism of what is released by the US controlled media that's important here; not the event itself ... exactly what that symbolism hints at remains to be seen ...
