"If Casey's father were alive today he'd be ashamed of Bob."
santorum on MTP this am. I don't recall what the issue was and the issue is irrelevant. But is that a focus group tested statement? Do republicans think that getting personal and bringing up an opponents dead parent will make their base sport wood? Is this what excites religious extremists in this country?

the little dog fucker sure was a huffing and a puffing this morning. Sounding all desperate and doing his damndest to be more liberal and more conservative then bush all at the same time.

2. Didn't hear that comment
but it sure is low. Santorum must be real desperate if he's resorting to that type of attack.

3. I heard it and my immediate reaction
was whoa, when is the bitch slap going to come?

I was surprised Casey let it pass but I bet it comes up again.

4. I was watching that debate with my dad, who doesn't like either
candidate, and we both felt that comment was absolutely uncalled for. He claimed that because Casey is anti choice but supports the morning after pill that he is trying to play to both sides by compromising his beliefs and that his father would be disappointed/ashamed of him. As I have said in another post, I think that comment alone strongly hurt his chances with undecided voters.

6. I accepted Casey's explanation
that the morning after pill will lead to less abortions. Something lost on the pro-life crowd. Just like abstinence only sex ed is no way to prevent pregnancies which will in turn lead to more abortions; in fact that farce of a curriculum might just lead to more pregnancies. I'll side with Casey on the aspect of the issue.

14. Same here - his answer there was very good
It is a middle ground between on a subject that typically has no middle ground. It will stop later abortions if plan B is used when there is a chance of pregnancy.

9. Casey was gentleman enough to let it go. He should have slugged Rick.
That was totally unnecessary.

Santornum is running scared.

10. Ricky's gonna regret that remark
what a disgusting jerk... hypothesizing what
his opponent's dead father would think...
that just proves what a piece of makaka Santorum is.
He's gonna eat those shitty words... again and again

11. It was a mistake to let that go. It is an outrage to make a statement
like that about someone's dead parent. Casey could have called him on it, loudly, and Santorum would have had no response. Even though it is a greater blunder for Santorum to have said this, it is an error to not have responded. I think sometimes things like this are said on purpose, to probe for weakness.

13. I think it was said because santorum's handlers
obviously know it would play well with his hate mongering base. As the election draws closer there will be more nonsense from the clown in an effort to secure his base which is comprised of people who hate the constitution. Who else would vote for the dog fucker?

15. Casey should have said in response
"If your fetus was still alive it would be ashamed of its father."

16. Casey should have said
very calmly:

"So there is nothing and no one, Rick, in the end, even a person's beloved, dead parent, that you won't slime in your desperate attempt to cling to office. I have really nothing to dignify your comment with."
