The Republican Party is running against itself - not the Democratic Party
The Democrats will only be there to pick up the pieces. Right now, the Republicans are hoping to get out their base. They know the moderates in their Party are more or less turned off by their whole agenda. The only ones they can truly depend on are the social issue Republicans - school prayer, anti-gay, anti-abortion crowd. That starts them off at about 30%.

If they cannot impress upon the independent Reagan Democrats and the moderate conservatives to get to the polls, they know they are in trouble. So, in effect, they are running against themselves. If they can get out their voters, they believe they can maintain control of the Senate and the House. However, that is a big "if".

The Democratic Party is only the "middle reliever" until the Republicans can get another starter into the line-up. Don't expect any big changes. It is not in the make-up of the present Democratic Party for any great revolutionary changes. This country is not made for common folks or working people. It is for Big Business and the wealthy. Always has been and always will be, unfortunately.

3. I expect you are right.
The only time the good ideas are heard is during campaign time, when the promises are being made.
