CBS Evening News report: "Earmark" blasts 3 by name only, not by party
Tonight on the CBS Evening News, the network's hard reviewed "Earmark" story, which is the pork in the budget that is typically for road projects in a congressman's backyard, detailed 3 congressmen by name, Ralph Regula R-OH, Gary Miller R-CA, and Ken Calvert R-CA, who made shady deals involving the earmarks they procured for their district.

In the instance of Calvert, he secured a highway project making it much quicker to get to a military base, but sure didn't want anyone to know that he and a partner bought a tract of land where the road would meet the base, then sold it for a $435,000 PROFIT.

Amazingly, CBS chose not to mention that all 3 of these men were Republicans. That liberal media!

Dammit American voters (not you all of course), wake up! All 3 of these crooks should not win re-election. Will they? We'll see.

1. I will be you that Denny Hastert
and Ken Calvert have been trading notes. Denny cashed in on a nice land/road deal himself.

3. If they mentioned their parties, then CBS might
...get criticized by Brent Bozell. Horrors!

Better to keep their parties from the public, instead of following the standard practice in news reporting of mentioning a politician's party when talking about him.

4. that's what I thought!!
I thought it was standard practice to say their party when speaking about them in the news. They do it everywhere else. I wanted the non-chalant voter (there's plenty of 'em!) to KNOW there's a culture of corruption in the Republican party and to actually see it! If you watched this and aren't political, you'd go away thinking ------------

They're all crooks!"

5. Yes, I noticed and made note of that too. You can bet that had
those crooks been Dems, they would have put that fact up front and center. Sorry bastids.

7. well, I don't feel alone for noticing.
maybe, being a CBS evening news broadcast, a few hundred voters in their districts will not vote for them. hopefully.

6. Regula is about as likely to lose
as Bush is to leave Iraq tomorrow. I can't speak to the other two.
