How long will *THIS* round of war rally speeches last?
Doesn't it all seem so familiar-a brand spanking fresh new round of war rally speeches- well it should.

Bush plans bid to rally Iraq support

President Bush will launch a new round of speeches Monday to rally support for the war in Iraq, advisers said, ...

As President Bush wrapped up a series of speeches on the war yesterday,...

Bush To Mark Anniversary of Iraq War with Series of Speeches
11 March 2006

President Bush plans to give a series of speeches on Iraq to update the American people on the U.S. strategy for victory, and to mark the three-year anniversary of the beginning of the coalition military operation that overthrew Saddam Hussein’s regime.

So the trends seems to be that every 4 months or so they trot back out their "Victory in Iraq" banners and cardboard cutout until the political winds force them to yank it all down and go back inside and replan. More of the same and please don't think that the mid-terms have anything to do with this...and no legacy making either none at all so stop saying that.

The December 2005-from my research- was the BIG series of war rally speeches (complete with weird trident backdrop) every week or so that fell flat on its face and ended after four speeches not the six (possibly 8) super duper speeches we were promised.

1. Never. He'll be beating this dead horse forever. Even after he's
out of office. Because he was sooooooo worried about his 'legacy' and his 'legacy' is that he was a warmongering incompetent.

2. I'd love to see the approval trends during and shortly after the speeches

Every time he speaks, he loses support, except from the hard core 25% or so that see him as their divine leader.

The rest of the country sees a word slurring, inappropriately grinning, talking points repeating, temper tantrum throwing, whining cretin.

It's hard work, appealing to your dwindling core of supporters while trying not to repulse the 75% of citizens who see the naked emperor more clearly all the time. MKJ

5. Or to create the illusion of supporters
I am completely convinced at this point that the real purpose of any of these events are two fold

1. Gives them a free ride and an excuse to go to town A -make a speech and then attend a fund raiser

2. Gives the illusion that he (and his "policies") still have some support out there so when the election results come back they are so far out of the realm of possibility that people take to the streets. The unseen unreported on unheard vast Christian right does the same thing.

After all, if he doesn't talk us to death over here, he'll have to talk us to death over there...er, I mean, he has to stay the course, and continue talking or the terraists have won...er, umm, I mean...freedom isn't free and we have to talk the fight to them...er, umm...aw hell, never mind.

8. Oooh, just you wait!
Why, once the nation sees the regal Mr. Bush and is dazzled by his stentorian intonations, you'll see everyone line up behind our great and powerful president, Mr. Smartypants (you should change your handle), and then all you libruls will be laughing out the other side of your leftist mouths when George W. (the "W" stands for wonderful!) brings victory to Iraq, peace to the rest of the Middle East, and personally tweaks Ahmanidejihadidood's nose!

You'll see!

Neener.

9. My question:
Who pays for all this republican party campaigning? It is obviously on the tax payers bill. Since only a around a 1/4 of the people will listen. Then why don't we have them foot the bill & we get to choose where we want our tax dollars to go.
